ANEI's coffee crosses the ocean powered by the wind, carrying with it a commitment to the planet from the Sierra Nevada and Perijá mountains.

At ANEI, each coffee bean tells a story of commitment to the land, culture, and planet. From the mountains of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and the Serranía del Perijá, our organic coffee travels across the ocean with an innovative approach: wind-powered maritime transport, which reduces its carbon footprint and connects Indigenous and rural communities with conscious consumers worldwide.

ANEI recently began loading 135 tons of organic coffee at the port of Santa Marta, bound for Montreal, Canada. This shipment, transported on the wind-powered sailboat Artemis, exemplifies how international trade can be combined with environmental sustainability.

The coffee is transported in 1,000-kilogram Big Bags, carefully loaded on board, demonstrating that innovation and environmental awareness can go hand in hand. But ANEI's sustainability doesn't begin at the port:

On our producers' farms, coffee is typically dried in canopies using solar energy, which helps reduce the use of fossil fuels.

Grain is transported to collection points by mules, reducing the use of motorized transport.

With each load of coffee that leaves our territory, we reaffirm that it is possible to produce and market sustainably, caring for the environment from the farm to the cup," emphasized Café ANEI.

This milestone not only brings our Indigenous and rural communities closer to the international market, but also positions ANEI as a benchmark in sustainable coffees, fair trade, and the fight against climate change.
