In our previous articles, we mentioned the coffee varieties and some of their main characteristics, today we will continue to tell you a little about the varieties that we currently offer, it is essential to know the genetic potential of our coffee to contribute to productivity of the cultivation units.

The use of coffee varieties according to the place and the producer’s interests favors the profitability and sustainability of the crop. It is essential to know the types of coffee since it allows us to identify the qualities of the profile of the cup and that is why we will share some vital information about our varieties:
Colombia: It is a plant very similar to Caturra due to its size and tree shape, but it is resistant to rust (a fungus that affects coffee crops). The production is identical to that of caturra, and the Colombia variety was developed by the National Coffee Research Center in Colombia, this variety produces a high-quality drink, high acidity.
Caturra: Variety native to Brazil, its height is low (1.80 mts), it is a small plant with excellent potential and high quality, it is widely marketed internationally, the fruit size is average and its yield it’s good.
Typica: It is one of the most important varieties, it is an origin variety of several genetically developed, it is very susceptible to pests for which it is necessary to maintain adequate supervision of the plants, it has a high-quality profile.
Castillo: Genetically created by Cenicafé, with significant resistance to rust, it has a soft body and bitterness, and a pronounced aroma and acidity for an average of 19 degrees of roasting, it also has a high productive potential.
Bourbon: It is a mutation that comes from the typical variety, it has a medium yield and high quality known for its sweet taste. However, it has low resistance to leaf rust.
