OUR COSMOVISION
ANEI's cosmovision, inspired by Arhuaco wisdom, is based on living in harmony, peace, and balance with nature. Following the Law of Origin transmitted by the spiritual fathers Kaku Serankwa and Arwawiku, Mother Earth, Seynekun, is honored as the source of life and fertility.
Through rituals that connect the spiritual and the material, we seek to balance energies and unite all beings toward the path of truth, Tanuriwun..
Our cosmovision as indigenous communities is to be guardians of the universe and ensure its protection.
OUR HISTORY
Thirty years ago, in 1995, ANEI was founded by Aurora María Izquierdo Torres – Arun Aty, an Arhuaco Indigenous woman from the Yewrwa community and a pioneer in receiving academic training outside her territory. Driven by the dream of strengthening her own economies, she created ANEI as an organization that uses coffee as a dynamic vehicle to preserve Indigenous culture and generate well-being for the rural communities of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and the Serranía del Perijá.
What began as a desire to strengthen these communities evolved into a robust intercultural model. Today, after three decades of challenges and lessons learned, more than 800 farming families and a committed team have consolidated a sustainable model that preserves our ancestral legacy and connects with allies who share our vision.
